Terms and conditions

These customer Terms are an agreement between Isotropic, Inc., which provides Palette, and each account holder or authorized workspace user. They do not apply to a person who only participates in a customer study. By creating an account, accepting a workspace invitation, or using Palette as an authorized workspace user, you agree to these Terms. If you act for an organization, you represent that you can bind it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

People

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 to use Palette. Give us accurate account information, protect your sign-in details, and tell us promptly about unauthorized access. You are responsible for your account and for people who use Palette through your organization.

Workspace roles

Every workspace has one Owner. Everyone else who joins is a Member. The Owner manages settings, invitations, billing, credits, connected services, and Library participation. Ownership can be transferred to a Member, and a sole Owner must transfer ownership before leaving.

Invitations and access

Sending an invitation does not create a charge. An accepted invitation is subject to the workspace plan and available seats. The person who sends an invitation represents that the organization authorizes the access being granted. On Free, access is limited to the Owner and, where different, the account that created the workspace. Other recorded memberships cannot use the workspace unless it returns to Pro.

Content

Palette

Subject to these Terms, Isotropic gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Palette. Isotropic and its licensors keep all rights in Palette's software, models, designs, documentation, trademarks, and technology, excluding your content and the outputs allocated to you below.

Your content

You keep your rights in prompts, files, research, code, connected-service data, and other content you provide to Palette. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for Palette to handle that content and follow your instructions.

License to operate Palette

You grant Isotropic a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, and modify your content only as needed to provide, secure, and support Palette and carry out your instructions. When you request a preview, this includes temporarily copying, modifying, building, executing, and hosting the relevant code and artifacts. Personal information remains subject to the Privacy Policy.

Outputs

As between you and Isotropic, you own Palette's outputs. Isotropic assigns to you any transferable rights it may have in them, to the extent permitted by law. Outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, nonunique, noncopyrightable, or subject to third-party rights. You must review outputs and obtain any permissions needed before relying on, publishing, merging, or deploying them.

Agents and connected services

Palette can read, write, and take actions through agents and connected services according to your permissions, instructions, and settings. You are responsible for those settings and for reviewing consequential actions. Third-party services remain subject to their own terms. Do not place credentials in prompts, repositories, or other content unless Palette provides a designated secure field for them, and do not submit malware or code you are not authorized to run.

Research

Your studies

You are responsible for the studies you create, the people you recruit, and the decisions you make from results. You must have a lawful purpose and all rights, notices, and permissions needed to collect and use study content. Do not use Palette to recruit or study anyone under 18.

Consent and recording

Before collecting responses or recording audio, video, screens, session interactions, or live pages, you must give participants an accurate notice and obtain every consent required by law. You are also responsible for lawful targeting, sensitive-trait use, recontact, and responding to participant or regulator requests concerning your study.

Rewards

If you offer a reward or other benefit, you are responsible for clear eligibility rules, funding, fulfillment, taxes, support, and disputes. Palette may assess completion or quality signals and send an earning event to your configured endpoint, but Palette does not fund or grant your benefit. Events may be delivered more than once, so you must deduplicate them before fulfillment.

Billing

Plans and renewal

Plan prices, billing frequency, seats, credits, and included features are shown when you purchase. Pro renews monthly until an Owner cancels or downgrades it in Billing. You authorize our payment provider to charge amounts due to the selected payment method. A cancellation or downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Taxes may apply. We may change prices for a later renewal after giving reasonable advance notice.

Seats

On Pro, an accepted invitation uses an available paid seat. If another seat is needed, Palette may offer prorated activation or keep access pending until an Owner completes the required payment. Removing a Member ends that person's access but does not create a current-period refund. The paid seat remains available through the period, and the next renewal reflects the seats retained.

Credits

Credits are workspace service units, not money. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between workspaces, and do not expire while the workspace exists. Members can spend credits as their permissions allow, and the Owner manages them. Credit purchases are final except where law or an explicit Palette refund flow says otherwise.

Payment and deletion

Failed payment can suspend paid features. Deleting a workspace cancels its subscription and forfeits its remaining credits. The billing system may process an unused-time subscription refund calculated by the deletion and refund flow, subject to applicable law.

Library

The Library is an optional, shared pool of research. When an Owner enables it, you authorize Palette to create and contribute the de-identified written summaries described in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights and participant permissions needed for that contribution.

Access

Pro workspaces can read the Library once it is enabled. Free workspaces can enable and read it after collecting 100 qualifying participants across their own eligible finished studies. Before that point, a Free workspace may see whether the Library matches a question, but not the Library's contents.

Which studies qualify

A finished study qualifies when it includes at least ten qualifying participants with sessions of genuine depth. Studies below that threshold and participants who were screened out do not enter the Library.

When studies join

Enabling the Library schedules eligible finished studies for contribution and continues scheduling new eligible studies while it remains on. An Owner may exclude a pending study before its contribution completes. Once contributed, a summary cannot be withdrawn by the workspace on demand.

Topic protection

Palette surfaces a research topic only after at least three distinct workspaces have contributed to it. This threshold is a condition of Library availability, not a promise that every summary will answer every question.

Turning the Library off

Turning the Library off stops new contributions and ends reading access. Contributions already made ordinarily remain after the Library is disabled or the source study or workspace is deleted. Palette may remove them to honor participant erasure, legal obligations, or a valid takedown. Turning the Library back on resumes contribution, including eligible studies completed while it was off.

Service

Acceptable use

Do not use Palette for unlawful, harmful, infringing, deceptive, or discriminatory activity; unauthorized surveillance or recording; exploitation of minors; malware; security testing without permission; unauthorized access; interference with the service; or high-impact decisions without the safeguards and human review required by law. Do not reverse engineer Palette except where law expressly permits it.

The service

Palette and its features can change, and third-party services can become unavailable. We do not promise a service level unless we agree to one in writing. You are responsible for checking agent actions, research results, replays, previews, and code before using them outside Palette.

Suspension and termination

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access for breach, nonpayment, security risk, abuse, harm to others or the service, or legal requirements. We will give notice when reasonably practical. You may stop using Palette or delete a workspace through the available controls. When access ends, outstanding charges remain due, terms that by their nature should survive will survive, and personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy. Library contributions remain subject to the Library terms above.
